What You Need To Know About Email Deliverability

If you’re spending a lot of time each month crafting emails to your subscribers.

This email strategy will not work, if you don’t have a optimized email delivery rate.

If your emails land in your potential customers’ spam folders, you have no chance of building a relationship with them or making a sale.

Here are 3 Tips that will help ensure that your emails make it to your subscribers’ inbox.

      1. Use A Reputable Auto Responder Service

Using a reputable auto-responder service is the single best thing you can do to improve your chances of avoiding spam folders.

Companies like Aweber, Constant Contact, Get Response and Digital Shortcutz work hard at making sure they are white-listed with all the Service and Email Providers.

Most autoresponder companies will list their delivery stats. In addition, the good ones will make sure your emails are compliant and keep you out of hot water.

      2. Set Expectations and Keep Them

Your chances of staying in the main inbox are high when your subscribers regularly open your email.

The best ways to insure that your open rate is high:

  • Provide great content that your subscribers are looking for.

  • Set expectations from the beginning.  Let your subscribers know which days and how often they can expect an email from you.

You can also use “foreshadowing” in your email messages.

At the end of your broadcast email, tell them when to look out for the next email from you.

Once you’ve set a date expectation, do what you can to meet it.

Life happens, however, do your best to keep your promise and email when your readers expect it.

Sticking to the schedule will improve your open rates and your overall deliverability.

      3. Clean Up Your List Regularly

It's a good habit to clean your list regularly.

If subscribers haven’t opened your emails over the past six months, chances are they are no longer interested in what you have to offer.

Check your autoresponder service manual to see how you can pause sending, or create a list segmentation.  You can segment inactive readers to a list, to pause sending or simply choose to delete that subscriber.

If you are emailing to a cold list, to people who have little or no prior contact with you. Delete these inactive users. Emailing to a list of inactive users will damage your domain authority, and cause email service providers to send your email to the spam folder.

Following these 3 tips will help your emails reach your subscriber's inbox.

Having your emails read is one of the ONLY way to retain customer engagement.
